SERMON: June 5, 2016 “Time Management” Part 1

Today Pastor Dave spoke on the 5 Key Principles of Time Management.  Because we try to fit more and more in our day, we can end up spiritually tired.  We need to set our priorities on Jesus; to seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33) and to have our relationship with the Lord to be the most important relationship in our lives.  When we have that strong relationship with God and when we love Him with all our heart, soul and mind (Mathew 22:36-38), we are able to have effect relationship with people because our ‘vertical’ relationships come out of our ‘horizontal’ relationship with God.  We need also to concentrate on “careful planning” (Proverbs 21:5) so we do not end up hurrying and scurrying which puts us further behind (v.5).  We also need to be organized and not to become distracted by all the things in our lives.  By being organized we can become AWARE of God’s presence.  We also have to learn to be flexible; as God prefers “a flexible heart to an inflexible ritual” (Matthew 12:6-8-the Message).
