SERMON: October 23rd, 2016 “The Character of God: Face-value or Faith-Value”

Today Pastor Dave asked the question, “What are we looking for in God?”  He brought up the word ‘engage’.  Engage in our relationship with the Lord and with others.  That we engage in a faith-value relationship with God instead of a face-value.  We can know all the names of God: Omnipotent, merciful, almighty, everlasting, trustworthy, powerful, Jehovah, Shalom-Our Peace, Rohi-Shepherd, Nissi- Our Banner which is all just face-value.  But when we engage in a personal relationship with the Lord and we move from a face-value to a faith-value relationship.  Where we know God is our peace, He is our Banner, He is trustworthy because we have taken these words into our soul and spirit.  We engage in taking it past the face-value of being a good Christian to the faith-value that God is God.
