SERMON: April 29th “It is not the Presents of God We are to Seek; It is the Presence of God in His Temple – In Us!!!”

“The greatest fact of the tabernacle was that Jehovah was there; a Presence was waiting within the veil.  Similarly the Presence of God is the central fact of Christianity.”  A.W. Tozer

2 Chronicles 7:1-3 NIRV ” The Temple Is Set Apart to the Lord
Solomon finished praying. Then fire came down from heaven. It burned up the burnt offering and the sacrifices. The glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests couldn’t enter the temple of the Lord because his glory filled it.  All the Israelites saw the fire coming down. They saw the glory of the Lord above the temple. So they got down on their knees in the courtyard with their faces toward the ground. They worshiped the Lord. They gave thanks to him and said,

“The Lord is good.
His faithful love continues forever.””

We are suppose to come to church to come in the very Presence of God; even though God is with us all the time, meeting Him at church is very powerful.  We are to actively search out His Presence; not only in the information, but the formation of our heart to His.  Honoring God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) is about the formation of our heart and soul to get close to Him; to look for God in every moment.

“Open our ears, O God that we may behold wondrous things out of Your law.  Open our ears, O God that we may hear what You will speak tho those who turn to You in their hearts.  Open our minds, O God that we may understand what it means to revere You and to learn Your ways.  Open our hearts, O God that we may grasp the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ.  Open our mouths, O God that we may proclaim the mystery of the gospel and speak of it boldly.  Teach us to seek You, and reveal Yourself to us when we seek You.  For we cannot seek You unless You first teach us, nor find You, unless You first reveal Yourself to us.  Let us seek You in longing, and long for You in seeking.  Let us find You in love, and love You in finding.  Amen”
