SERMON: November 4th, 2018 “That Was Then…This Is Now”
1 Kings 13:33-34 That was then…this is now – things aren’t so different today, satan is still trying to cause problems as he has always done but we are to keep our focus on the Lord. Not all the time the “thorns” in our life is from the enemy, but instead it can be from God to have us refocus back on Him because His grace is sufficient in all circumstances. Sometimes we have to learn red napkin wisdom like Ron Fraser’s quote “Why don’t you leave something for God to do?” We also have to remember that when God is telling us to do something, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, we are to do as He commands, like the prophet in 1 Kings 13:33-34 neglected to do. The story of the prophet is one of those history accounts that make one go “hmmm’. But not much is different for us today. We can fall into the same trap of the enemy when he will have us do things that seem right at the time. The only One whom we go to is God. God wants us in His Word, and in prayer so we can hear from Him for the truth.
