SERMON: October 21st, 2018 “If Jesus Isn’t Enough in Your Life, Nothing Else Will Ever Be”
“I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet.” We can get so focused on things and there will always be those who have more or have less. We are called to be content and satisfied with what we have (Ecclesiastes 6:9), and rejoice always and not be anxious about anything (Philippians 4:11-13). The definition of contented “feeling or showing satisfaction with one’s possessions, status or situation”. Our contentment with our situation doesn’t mean complacent or “marked by self-satisfaction… self-contented”. Instead we need to be “God-satisfied” and “God-contented”. God wants our heart; He wants us to love Him heart, mind and soul and love our neighbors as ourselves. If Jesus isn’t enough in your life, nothing else will ever be.
